This HDD Caddy / SSD Caddy can replace the optical drive of your Apple iMac 21.5" Mid 2011 by an hard drive or SSD. From now on you will have a second hard disk in your laptop. So no more lugging with external hard drives!
This mounting frame is made of aluminium that will ensure, in contrast to plastic HDD Caddies, for a better dissipation of heat which comes from the HDD. In addition, vibrations from the hard disk are also muted. That makes him even quieter. Don’t worry, both both SATA I, SATA II and SATA III 2,5" hard disks are supported with max. 6Gbit/s (max. 2TB).
The hard disk can be firmly secured with the built-in screws. To do this you'll get a small screwdriver free of charge from us. To remove the DVD player from the Apple, you'll need ordinary tools. Usually a phillips #00 screwdriver is sufficient. For the installation no are no extra cables or adapters needed.
